Set during the rigid, hyper-conservative atmosphere of the late Edwardian era in early 20th-century England, the narrative follows two young women, Julia (Taylor Sands) and Frances (Danielle Ronald), as they navigate the severe limitations placed on female desire, agency, and artistic expression. Julia, a fiercely independent and free-spirited country woman, is drawn into the secretive world of Edward (Pawel Sajnaga), a reclusive, avant-garde fine-art photographer who operates a hidden studio away from the prying eyes of polite society.

Edward seeks to capture the pure, unadorned beauty of the female form through a series of radical, taboo-breaking nude photographic portraits. Intrigued by the opportunity to break free from the suffocating social corsets of her daily life, Julia agrees to pose for him, quickly finding the experience deeply liberating rather than exploitative. When her close friend Frances joins her at the studio, a quiet, intimate sexual and creative awakening unfolds between the three individuals. Away from the strict moral judgements of the outside world, the studio becomes a safe haven for fluid self-expression and romantic exploration, challenging the era's traditional boundaries of art, modesty, and love.
