1. Who we are

Queer Film Hub is an independent editorial platform dedicated to LGBTQ+ cinema. The website is operated by the Queer Film Hub editorial team. For any questions regarding your personal data, contact us at: contact page.

2. What data we collect

We collect only the minimum necessary:

• Email address — if you subscribe to our newsletter. You provide it voluntarily.
• IP address and browser data — collected automatically by our web server in access logs. We do not use this data for profiling.
• Cookie consent choice — stored locally in your browser via localStorage. Not sent to our servers.

We do not collect names, phone numbers, payment details, or any other personal data. We do not run user accounts for visitors, but we do use analytics and advertising tools described below.

3. Why we collect it

• Newsletter email — to send you our occasional editorial picks. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Server logs — to maintain website security and diagnose technical issues. Logs are deleted periodically.
• Analytics data — to understand which pages, articles, films and series are most useful to readers.
• Advertising data — to display Google AdSense ads and selected partner banner placements, helping keep the site financially sustainable.

4. Legal basis

• Newsletter subscription: your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).
• Server logs: legitimate interest in operating a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).
• Analytics and advertising technologies: your consent where required by local law (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)).

5. How long we keep your data

• Newsletter email — until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
• Server logs — up to 30 days, then deleted automatically.

6. Third parties

We use the following external services that may process some technical data:

• Google Fonts — we load fonts from Google's servers. This means your browser makes a request to Google's CDN, which may log your IP address. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Analytics (GA4) — we use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects anonymised usage data (pages visited, approximate location, device type, click events). No personally identifiable information is sent. You can opt out using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google AdSense — we use AdSense to display ads and monetise the site. Google may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads, depending on your region and consent choices. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Advertising partner scripts (low-prices.eu) — selected banner placements on film pages may load JavaScript from low-prices.eu. These placements are loaded only after you accept analytics/advertising storage through our cookie banner and may use browser storage or similar technologies to serve and measure ads.
• PayPal — if you choose to support us via the donate button, you are redirected to PayPal's website. We do not receive or store your payment information. See PayPal's Privacy Policy.

We do not use Facebook Pixel. Our advertising stack currently includes Google AdSense and selected partner banner placements.

7. Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you,
• request correction or deletion of your data,
• withdraw your consent (e.g. unsubscribe from newsletter) at any time,
• lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Here's exactly what we use — nothing more:

We use analytics and advertising technologies from Google and selected advertising partners in addition to essential storage used by the site. Google Fonts may also set cookies — see Google's policy linked above.
