Itty Bitty Titty Committee (2007) holds a highly treasured, culturally explosive slot within the retro indie index of QueerFilmHub.com. Directed by Jamie Babbit (the visionary mind behind the immortal 1999 masterpiece But I'm a Cheerleader), this film infuses modern queer cinema with a shot of pure, unadulterated political adrenaline. The narrative centers on Anna (Melonie Diaz), a young, soft-spoken, and deeply unfulfilled woman living in Los Angeles. Anna is stuck in a profound rut: she has just been thoroughly rejected by her high school crush, her parents are pressuring her into an uninspired suburban future, and she's working a dead-end job at a local plastic surgery clinic.

Anna's predictable, passive existence is violently detonated when she catches a fiercely charismatic, leather-jacket-clad woman vandalizing the front windows of the plastic surgery office.

This woman is Sadie (Melia Renee), the explosive leader of the C.I.A. (Clits In Action)—an underground, guerrilla feminist art collective dedicated to smashing patriarchal imagery, commercial beauty standards, and institutional sexism through public interventions. Completely captivated by Sadie, Anna dives headfirst into the collective's radical world. As the group pulls off late-night sticker bombings, spray-paint missions, and high-stakes media hacks, Anna goes through a rapid political and personal awakening. The platonic fire of the group soon sparks a complicated, messy, and intensely passionate romance between Anna and Sadie. However, the film keeps its satirical teeth sharp. As the C.I.A. plans their most massive, law-breaking public stunt yet, the characters are forced to negotiate the tricky boundaries between artistic protest, actual political radicalism, and the personal compromises of love, establishing this film as an unmatched celebration of queer female rebellion.

💡 Did You Know? (Czy wiesz, że?) 🧠
A Queer Royalty Convergence: The film boasts an unparalleled roster of independent LGBTQ+ film royalty. Beyond director Jamie Babbit, the script features a co-starring turn by Guinevere Turner (the legendary screenwriter/star of Go Fish and co-writer of American Psycho), alongside a prominent appearance by Daniela Sea during the absolute height of their fame playing Max Sweeney on Showtime's The L Word.

The Power of Power Up: The production was entirely financed and spearheaded by POWER UP (Professional Organization of Women in Entertainment Reaching Up), a prominent nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, funding, and mentoring gay and lesbian voices in the entertainment industry.

The Velvet Underground Tribute: The film's vibrant soundtrack and aesthetic serve as a living love letter to the riot grrrl, punk, and alternative movements. It features tracks from iconic queer and feminist punk mainstays like Sleater-Kinney, Le Tigre, Bikini Kill, and Gossip, matching the exact rebellious, anti-establishment tone of the script.

A Prestigious South by Southwest Win: Following its festival run overseas, the film traveled to the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, Texas, where it triumphantly took home the highly competitive Audience Award for Best Narrative Feature Film, proving its massive, cross-over crowd-pleasing appeal.
