Jules (Brittany Allen) and Jackie (Hannah Emily Anderson) are a deeply in love, progressive married couple traveling to a remote, isolated cabin in the Canadian wilderness to celebrate their first wedding anniversary. Surrounded by dense forests and a tranquil lake, the trip initially feels like a romantic escape. However, the atmosphere shifts sharply when a childhood friend from Jackie's past, Lou (Martha MacIsaac), drops by unexpectedly and accidentally reveals a chilling detail: she addresses Jackie by her birth name, "Megan," a name Jules has never heard.

Before Jules can fully process this web of lies, the facade completely drops. During a quiet walk through the woods, Jackie cold-bloodedly pushes Jules off a massive cliffside ledge, leaving her for dead.

Miraculously surviving the devastating fall, a severely broken and bleeding Jules is forced to instantly shed her grief and shock to enter a ruthless, desperate struggle for survival. Jackie returns to the cabin, shifts into a chillingly calm, calculated sociopathic killer, and hunting down her own wife becomes a grim chore. What follows is a relentless, claustrophobic battle of wits across the landscape, unpacking a dark history of hidden victims, predatory manipulation, and a fight for self-preservation where love is completely weaponized.

Real-Life Partnerships: Star Brittany Allen not only carried the film as the resilient protagonist Jules, but she also composed the film's entire haunting, tense musical score. Additionally, she was in a long-term creative and personal relationship with the director, Colin Minihan, at the time of filming.

A Fluid Script Transformation: Minihan originally wrote the screenplay with a traditional heterosexual couple in mind. However, during the early casting phase, he decided that changing the narrative to center around a same-sex female marriage added a much more intense, fresh, and layered psychological dynamic to the betrayal.

Reunion of Co-Stars: Lead actresses Hannah Emily Anderson and Brittany Allen already possessed spectacular creative shorthand before stepping onto this tense set—they had previously starred together in the high-profile horror franchise entry Jigsaw (2017).
