In a colorful neighborhood in Tel Aviv, a group of five diverse women and one gay kindergarten teacher gather to watch the annual "UniverSong" competition (a thinly veiled homage to the Eurovision Song Contest). To comfort Anat (Anat Waxman), a baker whose husband has just left her, the group bakes cupcakes and spontaneously composes a catchy, heartfelt song on an acoustic guitar.hosen family.
Without telling the rest of the group, Ofer (Ofer Shechter) records their performance on a smartphone and submits it to the national selection committee. To their utter disbelief, their homemade song is chosen to represent Israel at the international finals in Paris. Thrown into the high-pressure, commercialized world of pop stardom, the reluctant group must resist corporate re-branding attempts and stay true to their friendship, authenticity, and retro musical spirit.
