Set during a record-breaking hot summer in the multicultural Berlin neighborhood of Kreuzberg, 14-year-old Nora (Lena Urzendowsky) moves quietly in the shadow of her popular older sister Jule (Lena Klenke). Quiet and observant, Nora keeps caterpillars in a jar, taking solace in watching their transformation while navigating the social anxieties of adolescence and an unpredictable home life.

Nora's world shifts when Romy (Jella Haase), a confident, free-spirited older girl, transfers into her school. Drawn together in the hazy, sun-drenched city parks and public pools of Berlin, Nora experiences her first real love and coming-of-age awakening. As the summer heat intensifies, Nora learns to step out of her emotional shell—breaking free from her metaphorical cocoon into self-acceptance and queer pride.
