Catherine Stewart (Julianne Moore), a successful gynecologist living in Toronto, becomes consumed by suspicion that her music professor husband, David (Liam Neeson), is being unfaithful. Desperate for answers and driven by growing anxiety, she hires a charming, high-class escort named Chloe (Amanda Seyfried) to test David's fidelity.
