Carmen & Lola

Set within a conservative Romani community in the suburbs of Madrid, Carmen & Lola tells the story of two young women caught between deep cultural heritage and personal identity.

Carmen (Rosy Rodríguez) is destined to follow a traditional life path—getting engaged, marrying young, and raising a family. However, everything changes when she meets Lola (Zaira Romero), an independent young woman who draws bird graffiti, dreams of going to university, and quietly realizes she is attracted to women. As their friendship develops into a clandestine romance, both girls face severe social taboos and the threat of familial banishment, forcing them to choose between cultural loyalty and living authentically.
