🎬 Bruised

Jackie "Justice" (Halle Berry) is a disgraced, washed-up Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) fighter living in humiliation years after walking out of a disastrous cage fight. Eking out a living doing house cleaning and trapped in an abusive, co-dependent relationship with her manager-boyfriend Desi (Adan Canto), Jackie sinks deeper into alcoholism and self-loathing.

Her precarious life is upended when Manny (Danny Boyd Jr.), the young son she abandoned as an infant, is brought back into her life after his father is killed. Driven by a desire to provide for her son and rebuild her self-worth, Jackie steps back into the gym under the guidance of trainer "Lady M" Maccree (Sheila Atim). As Jackie trains relentlessly for a brutal title match against undefeated champion "Lady Killer" (real-life UFC champion Valentina Shevchenko), a tender, romantic bond develops between Jackie and Lady M, offering her a chance at genuine redemption.
