๐Ÿ‘‘ REVIEW: A Perfect Ending (2012)

My Take:

A Perfect Ending is a film that proves itโ€™s never too late to discover your true self. It is incredibly sensual, yet filled with a sense of melancholy and elegance. Director Nicole Conn crafted a story that, instead of relying on cheap erotica, focuses on the emotional stripping away of layers between two women from completely different worlds.

What's Captivating: Barbara Nivenโ€™s powerhouse performance. Her transformation from a "perfect," repressed wife to a woman who finally feels alive is deeply moving. The relationship between her and Paris is tense yet built with immense respect and delicacy.

A Word of Caution: The film has a specific, almost dreamlike aesthetic and can be quite melodramatic at times. The ending (as the title suggests) is very impactful and might be an emotional shock for many viewers.

Verdict: 8/10 ๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€๐ŸŒˆ

One of the most important titles in the "mature queer cinema" category. Beautiful, painful, and visually polished in every frame.

๐Ÿ” Did you know...?

Barbara Niven became so connected to her character and the story that after the film's release, she became an active advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. The actress has mentioned in multiple interviews that playing Rebecca helped her fully embrace herself and gave her the courage to speak loudly about the need for authenticity at any age.
