Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma 2026

Young, queer filmmaker Kris Williams (Hannah Einbinder) is hired by a major film studio to direct a high-profile reboot of the iconic 1980s slasher franchise Camp Miasma. Although aware that the studio wants to repackage the original's notoriously transphobic tropes for a modern audience, Kris harbors a deep personal obsession with the series from her youth. In search of artistic inspiration and authenticity, Kris seeks out Billy Presley (Gillian Anderson), the reclusive, eccentric former actress who played the original "final girl". What begins as an interview rapidly devolves into a surreal, intoxicating, and blood-soaked dynamic where reality, horror tropes, suppressed trauma, and intense mutual fascination blur together.
