Directed by German filmmaker Alexandra von Grote, November Moon (Novembermond, 1985) is a compelling, tender, and historically crucial romantic drama set against the harrowing backdrop of World War II.

The story follows November Messing (Gabriele Osburg), a young Jewish woman who flees Nazi-controlled Germany to seek refuge in Paris. While working clandestinely at a local bistro, November meets Férial (Christiane Millet), a brave Frenchwoman. The two women fall deeply in love, forging a passionate romantic bond that becomes their sanctuary as war consumes Europe.

When France falls under German occupation, their survival is thrown into peril. To protect November from Nazi capture, Férial makes the perilous decision to feign collaboration with an antisemitic newspaper editor. This dangerous gambit protects November's life, but after the liberation, Férial faces public accusations of treason, testing the two women's love, sacrifice, and endurance to the ultimate limit.
