👑 WALK WITH ME (2021)

“Life is the song you find along the way.”

VIBE CHECK:
Indie Drama / Musical Soul / Intimate / New York Realism

THE PLOT:
Amber is a young woman who seemingly has the "perfect" life—a husband, a child, and a stable home in the suburbs. But beneath the surface, she is suffocating. She makes the radical choice to leave it all behind and move to Brooklyn to pursue her passion for music. While navigating the struggles of a single mother and a struggling artist, she meets Logan, a vibrant and self-assured woman who challenges everything Amber thought she knew about love and her own identity.

THE QUEER & RADICAL ANGLE:

The "Late Bloomer" Narrative: The film is radical in its honest portrayal of coming out later in life. It doesn't sugarcoat the pain of leaving a heterosexual marriage, but it celebrates the liberation that comes with finally walking in your truth.

Music as Identity: The original songs (performed by lead actress Devin Dunne Cannon) serve as a radical dialogue for the character, expressing the queer desires and fears she can’t yet put into words.

WHY IT KILLS:
It feels incredibly personal and grounded. Director Isabel del Rosal avoids the polished "Hollywood" version of Brooklyn, opting instead for a grainy, lived-in aesthetic. The chemistry between Devin Dunne Cannon and Bridget Barkan (Logan) is palpable and tender. It’s a slow-burn journey that rewards you with its sincerity, making it a must-watch for anyone who has ever felt like they were living someone else's life.
