โ€œThe most dangerous thing in a marriage is the routine.โ€

VIBE CHECK:
Domestic Drama / Slow-Burn / Lived-in Realism / Poignant

THE PLOT:
Trish and Deb have been together for years, raising two daughters in a suburban house filled with the "stuff" of a shared life. But beneath the surface of school runs and household chores, the spark has gone cold. Trish is grieving the death of her father and feels increasingly invisible, while Deb is buried in her work and the logistics of parenting. When Trish meets Jamie, a charismatic stranger who actually sees her, she is forced to decide if her marriage is a foundation worth repairing or just a collection of habits that no longer fit.

THE QUEER & RADICAL ANGLE:

The Radical Mundane: The film is radical because it allows a lesbian couple to be boring, tired, and flawed. It isn't about the struggle of coming out; itโ€™s about the struggle of staying inโ€”exploring the universal complexities of long-term commitment.

Grief and Identity: It beautifully portrays how personal loss can trigger a queer mid-life crisis, forcing a re-evaluation of one's role as a partner and a mother.

WHY IT KILLS:
Written and directed by Suzanne Guacci, the film feels incredibly authentic. The lead performances by Karen Sillas and Yvonne Jung are masterfully understated, capturing the specific "shorthand" and the heavy silences of a couple that has stopped communicating. Itโ€™s a quiet, intimate film that honors the messy reality of domestic life without needing grand cinematic gestures to make its point.
