My Take:
Euphoria is a visual masterpiece that hits you right in the gut. This isn't just another "teen show"—it’s a brutal, brave, and incredibly honest journey through addiction, trauma, and the search for identity. The relationship between Rue (Zendaya) and Jules (Hunter Schafer) is the show's beating heart—filled with highs and painful lows, portraying love in its rawest, most complex form.
What's Captivating: The aesthetics! The makeup, the glitter, the neon lighting, and the cinematography created a whole new visual language. Add to that Labrinth’s genius soundtrack, which builds half the atmosphere. Acting-wise, it's top-tier—Zendaya rightfully swept the major awards for this role.
A Word of Caution: It’s a very heavy show filled with triggers (trauma, substance abuse, violence). It’s not a "light watch"—it requires emotional resilience and attention to detail.
Verdict: 9.5/10 🏳️🌈
Hypnotic, painful, and visually stunning. A show that pushed the boundaries of modern television.
🔍 Did you know...?
Hunter Schafer, who plays Jules, never planned on an acting career before landing the role—she was a successful model. Director Sam Levinson valued her perspective as a trans person so much that he co-wrote Jules’ special episode with her. Because of this collaboration, Jules became one of the most authentic and multi-dimensional trans representations in mainstream TV history.
